Danum Valley was tucked about 50 to 60 miles up a dirt road, that took us between two to three hours to navigate. Thankfully, not raining, or who knows we might still be trapped there. The road provided some good views of elephant dung, but we saw no elephants while we were there.
We spent three un-air conditioned nights there. More than any other stop, we felt like we were in the midst of the rain forest: wild monkeys, wild orangs, all sorts of flora and fauna.
But HOT: multiple showers per day and night, in an effort to keep cool Strange and wonderful creatures appearing both day and night.
